Pashinyan meets with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran, the government reported.

The Prime Minister once again expressed his condolences on the death of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Khamenei, emphasizing that Armenia shares the grief of the Iranian people.

President Pezeshkian thanked Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for traveling to Tehran to attend the official farewell ceremony for Ali Khamenei. He noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran highly appreciates the position adopted by the Government of Armenia toward Iran during this difficult period, as well as the humanitarian assistance it has provided.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, congratulated Nikol Pashinyan on his victory in the parliamentary elections and expressed confidence that bilateral relations would continue to develop and strengthen steadily.

The parties also exchanged views on issues of regional importance, emphasizing the need for consistent efforts aimed at strengthening peace, stability, and regional cooperation.

It should be recalled that Pashinyan had arrived in the Islamic Republic of Iran on a working visit. At Tehran's Mehrabad International Airport, the Prime Minister of Armenia was welcomed by Iranian Vice President Seyed Hamid Pourmohammadi. Today, Prime Minister Pashinyan will attend the official farewell ceremony for the late Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Khamenei.
